I’m Shop Girl– a 27 year old teacher / blogger living beautiful Ontario (Canada!) with my Hubster and my shoes. I’ve been writing in one form or another since I learned how to string words together to make lovely run-on sentences that never end (like this one), and I’ve been plunking down all my random thoughts and stories here for nearly six years. I am a wifester, a sister to five crazy fun siblings, a daughter to two wonderful parents (and a daughter-in-law to wonderful in-laws!), an auntie to the most perfect niece and nephew anyone could ever imagine, and most recently: a mom! In February the wee-bean finally arrived and we are loving life with little Ruby*. Life isn’t always easy, but it is always good.
I’m beginning to embrace the transition from student-life to grown-up life. The Hubster and I spent four long years completing our educations at Hippie U (a land where burlap shorts and Birkenstocks reign wild and free) and are now enjoying life in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in Pretty City. After a long, hard year of searching I finally landed my first real grown-up job as an occasional teacher. I’m really enjoying life as a substitute teacher and am continuing to further my education.
I am originally from a teeny tiny town in “the Great White North” that I lovingly mock for all its eccentricities and small-townisms that are dear to my heart. Though I’ve lived in Southern Ontario for nearly 10 years, the North will always feel like home. Just after I completed my first year of university in Toronto I married a city boy who swept me off my feet in a whirlwind romance. We met, were engaged and married within eight months and I have never looked back. I love Our Story, and I’ve slowly been writing out all the details so that I’ll never forget. It’s been seven years and The Hubster is my best friend, my rock, my support and the love of my life.
Last, but not least, this is me:
I love: daisies, popcorn, rice krispie squares, sunshine, good hair days, mornings, 80′s comedies, Tom Hanks + Meg Ryan movies, music, piano, writing, family, teaching, books, smelly candles, mail, snowfalls at night time and shoes (my ‘collection’ was once nearly 100 pairs).
So lovelies, that’s me in a nut shell. I love shoes, love and life, and I love to write about it. Thanks for popping by!
Much love,
